Melissa Reardon

Melissa is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Psychologists Board of Australia and employed at CBT Professionals as our Senior Child Psychologist. Along with her clinical private practice, she oversees our child assessment team ensuring we are providing accurate diagnosis for children and she is involved in developing and evaluating our child services to meet the needs of our patients. Melissa also has experience working in the public system and is con-currently employed in the Department of Paediatrics at the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Melissa’s qualifications include a Bachelor in Behavioural Science, a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. Melissa’s past experiences have included training in childhood chronic illness and medical anxiety, practitioner training in Triple P parenting program; parent educator for the Circle of Security program, and training in the assessment and diagnosis of a range of psychological, cognitive and academic issues.  Melissa has also attended advanced training with Tony Attwood, and is an APS accredited provider of Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorder services.

Melissa has a particular interest in working with children experiencing chronic illnesses and medical problems, and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Melissa can conduct childhood assessments for cognitive and academic difficulties, and works in the treatment of all childhood mood and behavioural issues.

Melissa is trained in the implementation of a wide range of therapies, which include: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), parenting programs, Mindfulness based interventions; and Motivational Interviewing. Melissa brings a wealth of expertise and compassion to our team and we are assured she can assist you and your family to achieve the change and outcomes you are seeking.
